WELCOME
Marin Britten, MA, LC, CMHC
Relationships hold our deepest hopes - and sometimes our deepest hurts. I help couples gently untangle painful patterns, rebuild trust and rediscover the love and closeness that once felt natural.
I’m a licensed clinical mental health therapist specializing in couples therapy. I am extensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and certified in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. My work is also deeply informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment-based models.
This integrative approach allows me to help couples both understand the deeper emotional patterns driving their conflict and to build practical skills to respond differently in the moment. We work at the level of attachment and vulnerability — while also developing tools that create real, lasting change.
MY APPROACH
Most couples don’t struggle because they don’t love each other. They struggle because they are caught in a cycle of conflict, repeating the same arguments or stuck in the same negative patterns.
In our work together, we slow these moments of conflict down. We identify the pattern, understand the vulnerable emotions underneath it, and create new ways of responding that foster connection instead of protection.
I do not take sides. My role is to help you become allies again — working together against the cycle, rather than against each other.
WHO I WORK WITH
I work with couples and partnerships across a wide range of identities, backgrounds, and relationship structures.
I welcome monogamous and consensually non-monogamous relationships, including polyamorous partnerships. I believe healthy relationships are defined by clarity, consent, and emotional safety — not by a single structure.
I affirm LGBTQIA+ couples and partners of diverse faith and spiritual traditions. Therapy with me is a space where your identities, values, and relational agreements are respected and integrated into the work.
